CHAPTER 01 · THE BEGINNING

Since

childhood.

Gabrijel Brkic and Lukman Selimi, the founders of Orizumi, have known each other since they could talk. Shared school routes, shared breaks, shared plans. What started back then now bears the name Orizumi.

CHAPTER 02 · ORIGIN

Relevance to the

hospitality industry.

Both of us grew up in hospitality families. Hotels, restaurants, service—that was our parents' everyday life. We know what a Saturday evening at 8 p.m. sounds like when a kitchen is under pressure.

From our parents, we learned how hard work in the hospitality industry is, how much effort it takes to consistently deliver quality. We know what guests want to feel, even if they can't articulate it.

Arrive, feel welcome, a moment of inner balance and enjoyment.

This is the Japanese essence of consuming matcha.

CHAPTER 03 · GABRIJEL & MISAKI

Japan

Gabrijel was drawn to Japan early on. He loves capturing Japan's nature and cities photographically. He also appreciates the good food and the pleasantly polite culture. Enthusiastic about this beautiful country, Gabrijel begins to learn the language. On his travels, he eventually finds more than he was looking for: Misaki.

She grew up partly in England, lived in Tokyo for many years, and worked there in marketing. For her great love, she came to Switzerland – and brought a piece of Japan with her.

CHAPTER 04 · LUKMAN

Between screen and tea.

Lukman is a Product Owner with a background in business informatics and leads a team in developing digital products. It’s a profession that suits his strengths – and yet there's also a desire for something tangible, something he can hold, smell, and taste. For a space where his eye for design and his sense for the visionary can unfold freely.

Orizumi is the answer. What often remains fleeting in the digital world is meant to endure here.

CHAPTER 05 · TODAY AND TOMORROW

Direct.

Personal.

Binding.

We don't choose our products based on trends or price lists. We work directly with Japanese family businesses – including a traditional tea house from Hiroshima. We travel, taste, listen. What we offer, we have experienced personally. And we only offer it if we are convinced of it ourselves.

What drives us is the conviction that quality cannot be rushed. Every harvest, every stone mill, every step represents knowledge that has grown over generations. We want to pass on this craftsmanship – honestly, with care, and without shortcuts. Not because it's easy, but because that's what defines Orizumi.
